Choose an HVAC career then choose the best training in Michigan with Northwestern Tech. Our HVAC school course in refrigeration covers basic principles, operations, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of domestic and light commercial refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, ice machines, juice machines, and water fountains. Students learn from professional HVAC specialists who offer the benefit of their experience. Topics include Section 608 refrigerant certification, the laws of thermodynamics, compression cycle, defrost mechanisms, latent and sensible heat, methods of heat transfer, electrical circuits, and methods of cutting, bending, and torching tubing. This 5 week course provides hands-on training and is an in-depth class that will help students prepare for a job in the HVAC field.
