Hydronic Heating Systems (Boilers)

An HVAC school course in boiler operation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of residential systems through lecture and hands-on projects, taught by field-trained HVAC professionals. Topics include residential boiler maintenance, service, sizing, size radiation, size circulator pumps, piping layout, zoning, using boilers as tankless heaters, indirect water heating, and space heating applications. Student will also learn radiant heating, controls, troubleshooting techniques, code, and safety. This HVAC class comprises part of Northwestern Tech’s 10.5 month HVAC training program. Our career-focused program, located near Detroit, MI, offers students the opportunity to learn on a wide range of boilers and other HVAC equipment so they are ready to take on any installation, troubleshooting or repair job in the field.
